Guillermo Rigondeaux

Lomachenko vs. Rigondeaux Reportedly Set for December 9 in New York

It seems like the Twitter jabs between Vasyl Lomachenko and Guillermo Rigondeaux will finally turn into actual in-ring jabs.

It seems like the Twitter jabs between Vasyl Lomachenko (9-1 7 KOs) and Guillermo Rigondeaux (17-0, 11 KOs) will finally turn into actual in-ring jabs as ESPN.com’s Dan Rafael is reporting that “Hi-Tech” will finally take on “El Chacal.”

According to Rafael, Bob Arum has stated that he has a December 9 date for Lomachenko to fight at The Theater at Madison Square Garden with a deal in place to face the Cuban boxer.

Both Lomachenko and Rigondeaux are two-time Olympic gold medal winners and a fight between the two would be an incredible matchup between two of the best technicians in the sport.

An official announcement has yet to be made, and while Rigondeaux stated he cannot confirm that the fight is done, he was in good spirits via Twitter this morning.
