Hard-hitting Argentine puncher Lucas Matthysse (37-3, 34 KOs) is set to face Viktor Postol (27-0, 11 KOs) for the vacant 140-pound WBC title at the StubHub Center in Carson, CA., according to ESPN.com’s Dan Rafael.

The deal was finally reached after weeks of talks between both fighter’s teams.

Postol, 31, is coming off a UD win over Jake Giuriceo in April, while Matthysse, 32, is coming off his UD victory against Ruslan Provodnikov a week later.

Furthermore, according to Rafael, a deal with HBO is not yet finished, but the fight will likely headline a double-header featuring Humberto Soto and Antonio Orozco as the co-main event.

Postol has had previous wins over Hank Lundy andand Selcuk Aydin, which has helped made him into a top-ten Junior Welterweight.

However, the Ukrainian fighter will step up in class when he takes on Lucas Matthysse, who has had his share of wins and losses against top-ten 140-pounders.
