On Saturday, April 22, 2017, WBO Super Bantamweight champion Jessie Magdaleno (25-0, 18 KOs) made the first successful defense of his title with a second-round TKO victory against Adeilson Dos Santos (18-3, 14 KOs) at the Stub Hub Center in Carson, California.
The fight was the opening bout of a Top Rank PPV broadcast.
Magdaleno is a 25-year-old native of Las Vegas, Nevada who recently won his WBO strap against Nonito Donaire late last year.
In his first defense, Magdaleno took on the brave but over matched Dos Santos, a 25-year-old native of Brazil.
After a tentative first round, Magdaleno landed a hard right hook that wobbled and dropped Dos Santos.
After smelling a quick finish, Magdaleno aggressively landed combinations on Dos Santos, who was soon stopped at 2:51 of Round 2.
