In the prelude to the main event on the Tuesday, November 21 edition of Premier Boxing ChampionsPBC on FS1, Welterweight prospect Miguel Cruz (17-0, 11 KOs) from Lake Mary, Florida squared off against southpaw David “Day-Day” Grayton (15-2-1, 11 KOs) of Washington DC.

Grayton, coming in fresh from a draw with Kermit Cintron, showed little respect for his heavy handed 27-year-old rival as he caught him with several nice combinations over the first two rounds.

Cruz returned the favor throughout and appeared to hurt Grayton with a crisp combination of his own in the third.

In Round 6, Cruz caught Grayton flush coming in, dropping him for a brief count.

Grayton did not appear to be seriously hurt however and continued to engage Cruz on relatively even terms for the remainder of the round.

They battled competitively for the final four rounds, each man taking turns landing and receiving very clean shots.

At the end of 10 exciting rounds each judge saw the fight 96-93 in favor of Cruz who emerged with the unanimous decision victory.
