Terence Crawford appears to be entering the final chapter of his incredible career.

The 37-year-old has already won undisputed world titles in two weight classes, and has won versions of the world title in four divisions, making him one of the most decorated fighters to grace the sport.

His most recent accomplishment came in August of this year, when he dethroned Israil Madrimov of his WBA light middleweight title. This was the 41st win of Crawford’s career, which began way back in 2008.

With a list of accolades that most fighters would only dream of, ‘Bud’ looks to have entered his final few years of professional prize fighting, as he targets the biggest fights available to him before he bows out.

One man who has emerged as a potential opponent for the 37-year-old is Mexican boxing icon Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez. Turki Alalshikh has spoken on multiple occasions about bringing the pound for pound stars together in what would be a dream fight for fans around the world.

In the wake of negotiations taking place between Crawford and Canelo, hall of fame promoter Bob Arum spoke to FightHub TV and claimed the Mexican star would ‘wipe the floor’ with the four weight champion.

“I think Canelo wipes the floor with him.

I love Crawford, I told you when Crawford was fighting Spence that Crawford would beat the hell out of him.

But Canelo is a different proposition. It’s an interesting fight, but I think there’s only one winner. Canelo is used to fighting at a particular level and I don’t think that Terence can hurt Canelo, but Canelo can hurt Terence.”

Discussions between the two fighters’ camps will continue into 2025, with both men expected to return to the ring in the first half of the new year.
