“Hammerin” Hank Steps up to Face Crawford in February

Herrera vs. Lundy Media Day - Ismael Gallardo Westide Boxing (22)

WBO World champion Terence Crawford will face Hank Lundy on February 27 at Madison Square Garden.

Although no names have been signed on the dotted line just yet, it’s been confirmed that Crawford will make his way to his usual training camp in Colorado to get started next week.

Comments on Facebook and Twitter have claimed that Lundy has made personal attacks on Crawford’s family, and now this is personal. No surprise there from Lundy, as he is the Twitter trash-talking king.

Lundy’s Twitter account within the last month can be seen calling out names like Ruslan Provodnikov, Manuel Perez, Mickey Bey and for a rematch with Mauricio Herrera.

Crawford has kept it classy with nothing to say for now, but I’m sure Bud’s trainers, Brian McIntyre and Red Spikes, will have plenty to say when the time comes.

Reed to Fight at Madison Square Garden as Well

Mike Reed

Top Rank’s undefeated Mike Reed (17-0, 10 KOs) is also set to fight at Madison Square Garden on February 27.

No opponent has been named yet. Reed had a fantastic 2015, going 5-0 with 4 KOs. Reed was also a nominee for Round By Round Boxing’s Prospect of the Year.

No doubt another big year is in sight for Reed, and the stage keeps getting bigger and bigger for this young star.

New Year, New Rios

Brandon Rios - Chris Farina Top Rank6

Brandon “Bam Bam” Rios stated he was retiring after his loss to Timothy Bradley in November. However, Rios has posted on his social media accounts since December that he’s been working with Henry Castro, a trainer and conditioning coach.

Rios has been training at Castro’s gym, The KO Studios in Agoura Hills, California. Rios posted a picture this morning on his way to the gym, despite the rain.

Rios looks to be in better shape than we’ve seen him during the “off season,” so maybe his new routine is working out for him.

There’s no word on whether Rios will be working with Robert Garcia anymore, but allegedly, Garcia was not supportive of Rios’ return to the ring.

Still Praying for Prichard

Prichard Colon

Prichard Colon’s family posted to his social media that they are still so thankful for all the prayers and donation raised for their son.

The last status of Colon is that his condition is stable. He is still in a coma, but responding to stimuli tests, which gives his family much hope.

Please keep him in your thoughts boxing fans!
