Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez and Terence Crawford look likely set to clash in a mega fight later on in 2025.

The pound-for-pound superstars are rumoured to have been negotiating a fight since the new year, and it appears that a date and location has now been agreed.

Riyadh Season’s Turki Alalshikh has been working behind the scenes to get the bout over the line, having met with both men in London last weekend as part of the Ring Magazine awards.

ESPN Deportes’ Julius Julianis reported on X that an agreement has already been reached and the highly anticipated clash will take place in September of this year in Las Vegas.

“Sources close to the operation tell me that an agreement has already been reached for Canelo Álvarez and Terence Crawford to face each other in September of this year in Las Vegas.”

It was initially reported that the super middleweight showdown would take place in May, but a fight date in September is likely to give both men as much time as possible to prepare for what could be one of the biggest fights in boxing history.

‘Bud’ will be making a jump up of a further two weight classes to face the Mexican superstar, who holds the unified WBC, WBA and WBO titles at 168lbs.

Crawford’s most recent victory came in August when he dethroned WBA light middleweight champion Israil Madrimov on a on his debut at 154.

Canelo made the most recent defence of his titles in September when he defeated Edgar Berlanga Jr in a comprehensive points win in Las Vegas.
