Terence Crawford has admitted he is torn on who he believes is the greatest fighter in boxing history.

The 37-year-old from Omaha, Nebraska is 41-fights into a glittering professional career, where he has already won world titles in four weight classes.

‘Bud’ has also captured the undisputed world championship at both super lightweight and welterweight respectively during his tenure, becoming the first fighter in boxing history to do this within the ‘four belt era’.

Crawford is now gearing up to face fellow pound-for-pound star Canelo Alvarez in September, as he attempts to become a five-division world champion and potentially a three-weight undisputed champion, as long as Canelo can reclaim the IBF crown from William Scull on May 3.

Speaking to Manouk Akopyan, ‘Bud’ revealed who he believes are the two greatest fighters ever in his honest opinion.

“I think Sugar Ray Robinson and Muhammad Ali. I don’t think those spots will ever be taken.”

Ali and Robinson are both credited with being two of the greatest fighters to have ever laced up the gloves, enjoying phenomenal professional careers respectively. Their outstanding legacies have stood the test of time, with both fighters being two of the most influential figures in the history of boxing.

‘Bud’ Crawford will be looking to write his own name into the discussion for the greatest of all time when he faces Canelo in September, as he looks to defy the odds against the Mexican superstar who has dominated the 168lb division since he moved up from middleweight back in 2018.
