Gervonta ‘Tank’ Davis is reportedly eyeing up a dream-fight against a retired world champion.

The 30-year-old has had a highly successful career of his own to date, winning world titles in three weight classes since he entered the professional ranks back in 2013.

Davis has racked up a number of impressive victories during his tenure, against the likes of Jose Pedraza, Ryan Garcia, Leo Santa Cruz and Yuriorkis Gamboa to name a few.

His most recent outing came on March 1 when he fought to a split decision draw against Lamont Roach Jr in New York City, putting on an underwhelming performance across 12 competitive rounds.

With his next move yet to be confirmed, although a rematch against Roach is expected to be next for the American superstar, ‘Tank’ has recently revealed the one fighter he would match himself up against in a ‘dream fight’.

Speaking on A Safe Place Podcast, Davis made no mistaking in naming retired world champion and former promoter, Floyd Mayweather Jr, as the one fighter he would be interested in facing given the opportunity.

“Me vs. Floyd [Mayweather].”

Davis fought under the banner of the five-weight world champion’s promotional company ‘Mayweather Promotions’ during the early stages of his professional career before they split back in 2022 after a number of issues outside of the ring forced their working relationship to break down.

‘Tank’ has made his feelings clear about Mayweather to the public on a number of occasions since their split 3-years ago, with many fans and pundits left wondering if the pair could ever come up against one another in the ring to settle their differences, although it remains highly unlikely considering the 47-year-old from Michigan has been retired for almost 8-years.
