Terence Crawford remains on course for a super fight against Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez in 2025.
The 37-year-old made history in July 2023 when he blasted out Errol Spence Jr to become the undisputed welterweight champion, adding it to the undisputed super lightweight title which he claimed back in 2017 with a third round stoppage over Julius Indongo.
Crawford’s most recent achievement came in August when he moved up to light middleweight to relieve Israil Madrimov of his WBA title, becoming a four weight world champion in the process.
After their fight, Spence Jr spoke of ‘Bud’s power where he claims he felt the force of his shots throughout their clash.
“I got a feel for his power probably like first, second round. You know, he’s a strong dude, but you know, everybody at this top level have some type of power.
But I think because my timing was off he was catching me in between shots.”
The former world welterweight champion has recently gave his backing to his former opponent, ahead of the potential showdown with Canelo.
“I’ll be going for ‘Bud’ if he fights Canelo, I’ll be going for him. I don’t know if he’s going to win or lose but I’ll definitely be going for Crawford. I think if anybody can pull it off he can pull it off.”
Riyadh Season’s Turki Alalshikh has revealed on multiple occasions that he intends to get a fight between the pound for pound stars over the line, with the beginning of May being identified as a prospective date for the mega fight.
