Boxing fans await news of a potential super fight between Canelo Alvarez and Terence Crawford.p
Both fighters are reportedly in talks for a bout to take place in 2025, with Riyadh Season’s Turki Alalshikh at the forefront of those negotiations.
Canelo and Crawford are currently separated by two weight classes, with the 37-year-old American likely to make the move up to 168lbs if they are to get a fight over the line.
The Mexican icon is the reigning unified super-middleweight champion, having previously held the undisputed title before he was stripped of his IBF crown after he did not accept a showdown with mandatory challenger William Scull, who has since won the vacant title.
Crawford dethroned WBA super-welterweight champion Israil Madrimov back in August, making him a four-weight world champion in what was a historic night for the two-weight undisputed champion.
As rumours begin to intensify, many prominent boxing figures have been giving their say on the potential dream fight, including two-weight world champion Tim Bradley.
Speaking on his own YouTube channel, Bradley predicts an overwhelming victory for Crawford, claiming ‘Bud’ would ‘beat the breaks’ off Canelo.
“I woke up 3am and something told me to study Canelo and study Crawford.
Crawford is about to beat the sh*t out of Canelo Alvarez. I’m letting you know right now. He’s about to beat the breaks off of Canelo Alvarez.”
Official news of the battle between the pound-for-pound stars is still yet to be confirmed, but it has been reported that negotiations remain ongoing, with fans hoping an announcement may be made in due course.
