Muhammad Ali is regarded by some as the greatest fighter of all time.

The heavyweight icon was a pioneer for a golden generation of heavyweights, which included the likes of Joe Frazier, Sonny Liston and George Foreman. His glittering career spanned over 20 years, retiring in 1981 as one of the most decorated boxers in history.

His battle with Foreman in 1974, which is perhaps best known as the ‘Rumble In The Jungle’, is fondly remembered as one of the most iconic nights in boxing folklore.

Another memorable moment in the career of Ali was his showdown against Frazier in October 1975, billed as ‘Thrilla In Manila’. It was the third contest between the legendary heavyweights, with ‘The Greatest’ forcing Frazier to retire in his corner in round 14.

Despite being so prevalent during his time at the top, there are seom prominent figures in the sport who have gone against Ali in fantasy fight predictions.

In a clip with Mail Sport Boxing, Floyd Mayweather was asked to pick who he thinks would have prevailed in a clash between ‘The Greatest’ and Lennox Lewis, to which he said this after a brief pause:

“Lennox Lewis!”

Lewis is another legendary heavyweight who in the eyes of many remains one of the greatest of all time. ‘The Lion’ won 41 of his 44 outings as a professional, holding versions of the world heavyweight title on three separate occasions, as well as the undisputed championship in the late 90’s.

The British boxing icon is remembered for his impressive defeats over Frank Bruno, Evander Holyfield and Mike Tyson. Lewis retired from boxing shortly after knocking out Vitali Klitschko in June 2003, getting the better of the Ukrainian icon in the sixth round of their showdown.
