Deontay Wilder is being targeted by an American heavyweight ‘monster’ with twenty-two knockouts.

The 39-year-old former long-reigning WBC heavyweight champion is preparing to make his return to the ring when he faces Tyrrell Herndon on June 27 in Wichita, Kansas.

Wilder is coming off the back of successive defeats to Joseph Parker and Zhilei ‘Big Bang’ Zhang respectively, but the 39-year-old remains set on bouncing back and pushing towards another shot at a world title.

Many fans and pundits had called for ‘The Bronze Bomber’ to finally draw the curtain on his career, with defeats coming for him in four of his last five outings. Wilder’s most recent victory came against Robert Helenius, who he knocked out in the opening round of their bout in October 2022.

One fighter who has expressed an interest in facing Wilder in the near future is Jarrell ‘Big Baby’ Miller, who claimed in an interview with BoxNation that a showdown with the 39-year-old would be a ‘blockbuster’.

“I heard about [Wilder’s comeback] a few months ago. If we get past our fights maybe me and him could do a banger. A blockbuster … I mean, I’m about the paycheque, I still want to smash him, cause people want to see that fight.”

Miller returns to action against Britain’s Fabio Wardley on June 7 in an intriguing heavyweight showdown at Portman Road Stadium in Ipswich, England. ‘Big Baby’ has not fought since he fought to a split decision draw against Andy Ruiz Jr in Los Angeles last August.
