An American heavyweight contender has vowed to knock-out unified champion Oleksandr Usyk in devastating fashion.
The 38-year-old Ukrainian superstar wrote his name into boxing history with back-to-back victories over Tyson Fury last year, becoming the first undisputed heavyweight champion of the ‘four belt era’ in their first clash last May.
During his campaign at heavyweight, Usyk has also picked up victories over two-time world champion Anthony Joshua, reigning IBF heavyweight champion Daniel Dubois and Derek Chisora. The 38-year-old once claimed that ‘Del-Boy’ gave him his toughest fight at heavyweight, despite facing several world heavyweight champions.
With Usyk now gearing up for his return to the ring, controversial American heavyweight Jarrell ‘Big Baby’ Miller has spoken out and vowed to become the first man to defeat the Ukrainian icon.
Speaking to CounterPunch Boxing News, Miller didn’t hesitate to back himself against Usyk if they were to face each other, claiming he is the ‘bigger and stronger’ man out of the two.
“I’m bigger, stronger. I throw more punches, I’m more aggressive, I have a better chin, I’m more durable than these guys.
“I was the most feared heavyweight in boxing for a number of years because of my punch output, my stamina, and how I come forward…I know with a full training camp, I’ll f**king beat Usyk’s ass.”
‘Big Baby’ became the subject of intense controversy ahead of his scheduled showdown with Anthony Joshua back in 2019, after he tested positive for two banned substances in a routne drugs test. Miller returned to the ring in 2022, with his most recent outing coming against former unified heavyweight champion Andy Ruiz Jr last August in what was declared a split decision draw.
Miller is now scheduled to face unbeaten British heavyweight Fabio Wardley on June 7, with the pair set to fight for the vacant WBA ‘Interim’ world heavyweight title at Portman Road stadium in Ipswich.
