Just weeks after defeating heavyweight legend Mike Tyson, Youtube sensation Jake Paul is gearing up for his 13th professional contest.
The 27-year-old made his professional boxing debut in 2019, and since then has had 12 contests, defeating MMA legends Tyron Woodley, Nate Diaz and Anderson Silva along the way.
His most recent outing came in November when he outpointed ‘Iron’ Mike over 8-rounds at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, improving his record to 11-1 but once again failing to claim a win over an active professional boxer, which is what fans around the world have called for.
Paul’s maiden career defeat came in February 2023 when he was beaten by Tommy Fury in an eight round split decision loss at the Diriyah Arena in Saudi Arabia.
As the 27-year-old from Cleveland, Ohio looks to advance his career further, he has attracted the attention of a number of accomplished professionals, even being targeted by a reigning undisputed champion.
Speaking across social media, current undisputed light heavyweight champion Artur Beterbiev spoke about his interest in facing Paul, urging him to put his skills to the test against a real champion.
“Jake Paul, what can you do in the ring against the current undisputed champion? Just know that I’m always open to any suggestions.”
Beterbiev is fresh off an emphatic victory over light heavyweight rival Dmitry Bivol, claiming a majority decision victory over his fellow Russian in October. The duo are pencilled in to clash in a rematch on February 22.
The next chapter of Paul’s career is yet to be written, but ‘The Problem Child’ is said to be targeting a ring return by Summer 2025, with pundits and fans calling for the internet star to finally make a considerable step-up in opposition.
