Larry Holmes and Lennox Lewis are two of the greatest heavyweight boxers of all time.
However, there is one man who boasts victories over both, and at 59-years-old, he has recently re-started his professional career.
Oliver McCall is a veteran of heavyweight boxing, who has had just under 80 fights in a career spanning almost 30 years. He made his most recent ring appearance in November, forcing a second round stoppage over Stacy Frazier in Texas.
McCall knocked out Lewis in the second round of their battle for the Brit’s WBC heavyweight title in 1994, pulling off a massive upset against ‘The Lion’.
The British boxing legend did manage to get his revenge a couple of years however, stopping ‘The Atomic Bull’ in the fifth round of their rematch.
Then just seven months after shocking the boxing world against Lewis, McCall made the first defence of his heavyweight crown when he defeated Holmes over 12 rounds at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas He would go on to lose his title just one fight later against Frank Bruno.
After returning to the ring for the first time in five years with that win over Frazier in November, ‘The Atomic Bull’ is already preparing to lace the gloves up once again as he approaches his 60th birthday, as he is set to take on Gary Cobia later this month.
McCall has expressed his desire to secure a fight against YouTube sensation turned professional fighter Jake Paul, with the former heavyweight champion targeting revenge for Mike Tyson, who fell short in an eight round bout against Paul a few months ago.
