Mike Tyson has given his verdict on a potential clash between Roy Jones Jr and Jake Paul after facing both men.

The 58-year-old former world heavyweight champion faced Jones in an exhibition contest in 2020, going the eight round distance that was scored a draw.

Tyson then made a sensational return to the professional ranks when he fought the 27-year-old YouTube sensation turned boxer at the AT&T Stadium in Texas last November. It was ‘Iron’ Mike’s first appearance in an officially sanctioned contest since he suffered a knockout defeat to Kevin McBride 20-years ago.

it was evident throughout his battle with Paul that the 58-year-old’s age had caught up with him, as he struggled to match the pace and tempo of a man over 30-years his junior. All three judges scored it in favour of ‘The Problem Child’, picking up his 11th professional victory.

It has been reported over the last few weeks that Paul is being targeted for a showdown with Jones, as the 27-year-old gears up for his next outing which is expected to be announced very soon.

Speaking on FOX Sports Radio, Tyson gave his opinion on the potential clash between his former opponents, stating the power of Paul could cause some issues for the four-weight world champion.

“He’s fast enough though. If Roy is training, Roy could still do a lot of stuff. He’s got to be training though – he has to be training. Jake punches hard, my body hurts so bad.”

Jones’ last ring appearance came in April 2023 when he was beaten by MMA legend Anthony Pettis in Wisconsin. The 55-year-old has left the door open for a return to boxing in the near future.
