Mike Tyson Makes Emphatic Gervonta Davis vs Shakur Stevenson Prediction: “He’s A Specialist”

Gervonta Davis and Shakur Stevenson remain on a collision course to face eachother in one of the biggest fights in boxing.

Both fighters currently hold world titles in the lightweight division, and are surely set to cross paths with one another sooner rather than later, with many pundits and fans calling for the fight to be made.

It has been debated recently that both fighters are yet to fully test themselves against the best of the best, which makes a showdown between them even more intriguing and exciting.

Former world heavyweight champion Mike Tyson has shared his thoughts about the potential match-up, weighing up the respective abilities and styles of both fighters.

Speaking on the It is What It Is Podcast, Tyson gave plaudits to both Davis and Stevenson, but made it clear that he would predict ‘Tank’ to prevail if they were to fight at some point.

“Wow, that’s a good fight. I like to go with Tank. Everyone’s gonna go with Tank, but it would be a very interesting fight.

“Listen, you don’t have to hurt him, you just have to out-score. Shakur takes a good shot, he’s a specialist. That’s why there are some fights that he doesn’t look good in, because he’s so superior.”

Stevenson returns to the ring on February 22 in Riyadh as he makes the next defence of his WBC crown against the highly rated Floyd Schofield. The 27-year-old was due to return in October against Joe Cordina but suffered a hand injury in the lead-up.

For Davis, he is due to face Lamont Roach on March 1 in New York. It was recently revealed that the 30-year-old could make a sensational retirement from boxing by the end of 2025, although that is yet to be officially confirmed by the fighter or his team.
