Mike Tyson made a sensational return to the ring last month when he faced Jake Paul.

Tyson, who hadn’t fought in 19 years after a stoppage loss to Kevin McBride in June 2005, received a barrage of mixed reactions when it was announced he would be making a comeback against the Youtube star Paul, who made his boxing debut in 2020 when he beat AnEsonGib by first round knockout.

The contest between Tyson and Paul was originally planned to take place on July 20, but it was postponed after ‘Iron Mike’ suffered an ulcer flare up. The controversial match-up was then rescheduled to November 15 at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.

As expected, Tyson looked to be a shadow of his former self on the night, with Paul holding back on the former world heavyweight champion at times, which led to speculation that the fight was fixed.

Speaking to ESNEWS, Mike Tyson’s son Amir shared his honest opinion on why his dad couldn’t get the better of Paul and said it was simply a case of running out of gas.

“I knew he was gonna be able to take Jake’s punches. You know, in boxing you never know what’s going to happen.

In my honest opinion, I know people are saying whatever about the fight, I think he just gassed out you know what I mean?”

Amir then commented on the ongoing speculation that the fight itself was scripted.

“I get so tired of hearing that, because when people say that like where’s the proof?

We know the game, we know how people believe everything they hear real quick.”

Tyson initially refused to rule out retiring from the sport, despite multiple calls for him to hang up his gloves for good, and now appears to have made a U-turn on that decision.
