Former world heavyweight champion Michael Moorer has predicted the exact moment he thinks the Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk rematch will come to an end.
‘The Gypsy King’ started the fight well where he picked up the majority of the early to mid rounds, before his heavyweight counterpart Usyk upped the tempo and came within seconds of stopping Fury at the end of the ninth round.
Many people felt Fury let the fight slip through his fingers, as he looked to have let the Ukrainian back into it and regain control as they entered the last few rounds of the undisputed heavyweight title showdown in Riyadh.
Three-time heavyweight king Moorer spoke to BoxNation where he shared his insight into the rematch and why he believes Usyk will be victorious once again.
“Nine times out of ten Fury has sparred with southpaws, he thinks he’s done everything right to fight a southpaw. SugarHill has done a great job with him but my thing is Usyk has the smarts to do so much more.
Fury back in the day he wasn’t a real boxer guy, he was out of shape, but Usyk was a guy that was always in shape always doing the right thing.
I think Usyk will stop him probably 10th, 11th round. I think Usyk will win.”
The highly anticipated second meeting between Fury and Usyk, which will be for three of the four heavyweight titles, takes place next Saturday night in Riyadh with ‘The Gypsy King’ setting his sights on redemption.
