Jake Paul has been linked with a sensational clash with UFC legend Conor McGregor.

The 27-year-old’s most recent ring appearance came in November when he outpointed heavyweight icon Mike Tyson over eight rounds at the AT&T Stadium in Texas.

Paul is no stranger to locking horns with MMA fighters, having already faced Ben Askren, Tyron Woodley, Anderson Silva and Nate Diaz in professionally sanctioned contests.

As rumours start to intensify about the YouTube star’s next outing, there is a chance that he could come up against none other than Conor McGregor.

‘Notorious’ has fought as a professional boxer once before, when he met Floyd Mayweather Jr in August 2017, suffering a tenth round knockout defeat to the former pound for pound superstar.

ESPN’s boxing correspondent Salvador Rodriguez has said a fight between the two could take place in India next year:

“Sources: Jake Paul vs Conor McGregor on the table for July, August, or September 2025 in India.”

Speaking to Betway, McGregor’s former sparring partner and two weight world champion Paulie Malignaggi reveals that he thinks Paul would knock out McGregor, if a fight between the pair ends up happening in the future.

“I think Jake Paul would knock Conor out. Conor is too susceptible to those loopy shots and Jake hits hard enough that only needs to hit you with one or two of them.

I think he would do OK for a couple of rounds, but if you didn’t get Jake out in a couple of rounds, I think Jake would knock him out, and he would probably knock out with a big shot.”

McGregor has not fought as a professional boxer since defeat to Mayweather, but has remained open to a return to the sport if the right opportunity arises.

A clash between ‘The Problem Child’ and ‘Notorious’ is reportedly in early talks, with both men keen on a return to action in the first half of 2025.
