Teddy Atlas Is Certain Who Wins Gervonta Davis vs Shakur Stevenson: “He’s The One That Beats Him”

Shakur Stevenson and Gervonta Davis[/ttag] have been on a collision course for quite some time.

WBC lightweight champion Stevenson is scheduled to return to the ring on February 22 when he clashes with undefeated American Floyd Schofield on the undercard of the Artur Beterbiev and Dmitry Bivol rematch in Riyadh.

WBA lightweight king Davis picked up his 30th career win when he stopped Frank Martin in the eighth round of their meeting in Las Vegas back in June. ‘Tank’ is due to return to the ring on March 1 2025 against Lamont Roach in New York.

Rumours of a fight happening between Stevenson and Davis have floated around the sport for the last couple of years, with a showdown looking more likely to take place than ever in 2025. It has been reported that conversations about a clash took place earlier in the year but to no fruition.

Legendary trainer turned analyst Teddy Atlas spoke to ProBox TV and was asked who he thinks is ‘the man’ at lightweight.

“Tank Davis, he’s the man! Right now he’s in his prime, he can do everything.

Forget about the fact he’s the hardest punche and all of that, he’s also a terrific counter puncher … Sets traps … Can use his legs when he has to … Right now he’s the full package.”

Atlas went on to comment on if he believes ‘Tank’ would get the better of Stevenson.

“He’s probably the only guy I can think of beating Shakur Stevenson right now, because Shakur Stevenson is that difficult because of his style, because of his ability, because of his eyes, because of his legs, his hand speed, the way that he controls range.

Tank Davis is the only guy that I can see that could possibly decipher that style and beat Shakur Stevenson.”

A fight between the two unbeaten fighters would be one of the biggest in boxing and fans be hoping it can get made in 2025.
