Oleksandr Usyk defeated heavyweight rival Tyson Fury for a second time last month.

The 37-year-old claimed a second consecutive points win over Fury just seven months after their first battle. The Ukrainian icon remained the unified WBC, WBA and WBO heavyweight champion, with many naming him as the greatest heavyweight of this generation.

The rematch was another cagey affair, with both men producing solid performances and staking a claim to have their hand raised, but it was Usyk who got the nod with all three judges scoring it unanimously in favour of the Ukrainian, with ‘The Gypsy King’ shown to be visibly shocked when the scorecards were read out.

Speaking at the post-fight press conference, Usyk was asked to confirm whether the second fight was actually easier than the first, to which he said this.

“No, fight was easier. Not easy but easier [than the first fight].”

Both fighters are now expected to make important decisions on their respective futures, which could see either of them retire, or continue their careers into 2025.

Fury has been heavily linked with an all-British heavyweight battle with Anthony Joshua, which has been speculated for a number of years.

Usyk has reportedly already confirmed his intentions are to fight on, with rumours that he is interested in a return to cruiserweight to face Jai Opetaia or Gilberto ‘Zurdo’ Ramirez. The Ukrainian is also said to be considering giving IBF heavyweight champion Daniel Dubois a rematch, after Dubois stormed the ring following Usyk’s win last month.
