On paper, Nicholas Walters has a slight edge over Nonito Donaire. In addition to being younger and taller, Walters also has a significantly longer reach that could be a serious advantage for a counter puncher such as himself.
With this said, Donaire does not completely have the short end of the stick in this scenario. He has much more experience, having boxed almost twice as many rounds as Walters.
Also worth mentioning is that Donaire and Walters are set to box 12 rounds, and Walters has not gone the distance in a fight for over two years. Though I find it unlikely the bout will go into the later rounds, it will be interesting to see how Walters fares if he is dragged into the trenches.
