“We haven’t had any kind of injuries. We make sure to wrap his hands really tight, it may seem like they’re too tight, but as explosive as he is if you don’t, he’ll get his hands hurt.”
Willie Monroe Jr.
“I’m not worried about his power. I’ve sparred with Heavyweights, broken their ribs, you know, it’s boxing. You’re going to get hit, the key is to get as least as possible.”
“Four years ago when I lost a split decision to Darnell Boone and the promoter I was with dropped me and a lot of people walked away from me, you couldn’t have told me that three of four years later I’d be on this level. I thought it was over. But that just comes from my belief in God and my belief in myself. I’m a walking testimony that God is real, walk by faith not by sight.”
“I’m very excited to be fighting at The Forum where my idol Alexis Arguello fought four times.”
