PRODUCT REVIEW: EXOGUN

ExoGun

The ExoGun is a multi-massage device founded and designed by a team of engineers and athletes dedicated to improving performance and recovery for sportspeople.

Boasting an innovative percussion therapy, the ExoGun improves muscle function and recovery by penetrating deep into the muscle tissue with a series of rapid, concentrated pulsating strokes.

Pros of the ExoGun

There are plenty of massage guns on the market, but where the ExoGun excels and stands out is with its power.

When comparing it to other massage guns, you can tell right away that the ExoGun is much stronger and can go a lot deeper into the muscle tissues, without abruptly stopping.

Our first experience with the ExoGun was after a workout, which included some light weight lifting and a quick 20 minute Peloton session.

Our first reaction to using the ExoGun was the sleek design and we liked the easy touch LED design. Even after working up a sweat, the ExoGun levels are easy to set with a few taps on the touch screen (we started on level three of six) and very easy to grip as well.

With six power settings that allow for high impact recovery and low impact, deep tissue massage, the excellent ExoGun grip is really important because of the power and intensity that each level offers.

Many other guns on the market in and around the $200 price range don’t offer nearly as much torque when you’re looking for a deep and intense massage for certain muscles.

After a few uses, we can attest that the battery life of this gun can last you from four-to-six hours per charge, which is solid and useful for more than a handful of uses. While the ExoGun is for everyone–from professional athletes to someone who needs a good massage–it’s important to keep in mind that the true benefit of this gun is how deep and intense it can get into your muscles.

If you’re looking for a gun just for light massages, you can probably get away with something less expensive, but rest assured that the ExoGun offers comfortable massages on levels one, two or three.

EXOGUN REVIEW

The standard ExoGun package comes with:

  • 1 ExoGun massager
  • 1 charging cable
  • 4 different head attachments
  • 1 carrier / storage case.

Cons of the ExoGun

One thing that the ExoGun can improve on is not even related to the gun itself–packaging and instructions.

For a beginner who has never used a massage gun and is looking for an easy way to “plug and play,” the lack of direction is a bit frustrating and could also make the gun seem more complex than it really is. There is no real direction or advice on how to use the multiple head units, which is also a bit frustrating.

In terms of the unit itself, the touch screen also seems to be slightly off, with the sensor activating slightly to the left of the actual button.

All in all, there are a lot more pros than cons and we would certainly recommend the ExoGun for massage gun beginners and pros.
