Unbeaten Ohio prospects Boubacar Sylla and Desmond Jarmon make their 2018 debuts Feb. 2 in hometown Cincinnati, with the launch of Wyatt Promotions’ new Friday Night Fights series.

CINCINNATI (January 29) – Live professional boxing heats up this winter with the arrival of a new Friday night fight series to be held at the Radisson Hotel in Covington, Kentucky. The series’ inaugural event launches the action this Friday, February 2. Be prepared for an action-packed night of boxing presented by Wyatt Promotions.

This first event at the Radisson Hotel under the Wyatt Promotions banner boasts of a 10-fight line-up featuring Boubacar Sylla, Desmond Jarmon,  William “Action” Jackson, and several other up and coming stand out Cincinnati fighters.

In early September Sylla – an undefeated 23-year old 6-foot welterweight – took advantage of the opportunity to work alongside, and spar with, former two-division world champion Lamont Peterson, and his brother Anthony, under the tutelage of trainer Barry Hunter at the renowned Head Bangers Boxing Club. Sylla traveled to Cleveland, Ohio in November and displayed the result of his experience in Washington, D.C. by stopping another 7-0 welterweight in Brooklyn, New York’s Marlon Brown. The fourth round stoppage was the rangy puncher’s seventh fight in eight bouts to be stopped within the distance.

Jarmon (3-0) is a featherweight promoted by About Billions Promotions who picked up wins on some notable cards in Cincinnati, New York and Mississippi in 2017. However, scheduled fights in Flint, Michigan in November, and in Brooklyn on the Spence-Peterson undercard failed to materialize, hindering the young fighter’s progress. Jarmon may not have added to his professional record as planned but he wasn’t idle. In preparation for a couple of fights, he got in some invaluable sparring work with WBA No. 8-ranked featherweight Tyler McCreary and 2016 Summer Olympics silver medalist Shakur Stevenson. Hometown fans should expect an impressive performance from the youngster who will celebrate his 21st birthday on the 18th.
