For  Zachary Cooper (2-0-2, 2 KOs), boxing isn’t just a sport, it’s a lifestyle.

“I want it all, success, cars, money, and to be in the position to give back,” stated Cooper during a phone interview with Round by Round Boxing.

Even though Cooper is just starting his young career, at the age of 29 he knows the only thing he needs to do is look forward.

This optimistic outlook comes from starting out his career on his own–no promotional team, no management. “I found my fights on my own, and knew I was coming in on the B-side,” Cooper admits.

That is a scary task for one to take on, let alone train and prepare for fights, but Cooper was determined. He had only 10 amateur fights, but won them all, and he knew he had a style perfect for the pros.

Coming from Seattle, Washington, Cooper was an athlete, and also an educated man. Cooper holds a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice and a minor in legal studies. For a man who doesn’t need to put on a pair of gloves at all to be successful, Cooper knows he can bring so much to the sport of boxing.

“I won’t fight forever. One day I’d love to broadcast and call fights, like my man Paulie Malignaggi. He’s simply one of the best.”

Cooper also hopes that with a successful career one day he can give back to the Seattle Children’s Hospital.

“There are so many kids in there, who are fighters like myself, but what they’re fighting for is so much more important. They’re fighting to be healthy, to play like a kid should, to just simply live.”

Cooper feels his new signing with Golden Boy Promotions will help him achieve all he hopes to accomplish. And with head trainer Jeff Mayweather taking Cooper under his wing at the Mayweather Boxing Gym in Las Vegas, the possibilities could be endless, and the opportunities golden.

Cooper hopes to return to the ring June 1.
