Roberto Garcia (34-3, 23 KOs) scored a unanimous decision victory over Breidis Prescott (27-6, 20 KOs) in a 10-round Welterweight fight at the UIC Pavilion in Chicago, Illinois.

The bout was the main event of a card presented by Warriors Boxing Promotions and ESPN.

Garcia, a 34-year-old Welterweight who was going into the fight with a seven-win streak after losing to Antonio Margarito in 2010, was busy enough with his attack to the body to outwork Prescott for most of the fight.

Prescott, however, was did not make this fight an easy affair, using his footwork and one-two combination to keep Garcia off balance and to evade Garcia’s right hands and hooks.

It was this one-two combination, in fact, that dropped Garcia in round nine.

Garcia complained that it was caused by a slip, but it was clearly a knockdown.

Garcia would go on to finish the tenth round aggressively in order to remove any doubt of this winning.

The judges scored the bout 96-93, 95-94, and 96-92 for the Tamaulipas, Mexico native.

Caleb Truax (24-1-2, 14 KOs) vs. Derek Ennis (24-5-1, 13 KOs)

Caleb Truax scored a unanimous decision victory over Derek Ennis in a ten-round Middleweight fight.

Truax, whose only loss came via unanimous decision to Jermain Taylor in 2012, began the fight confidently, walking down the shorter Ennis to land right hands and punches to the body in the early rounds.

In the third round, Truax landed a powerful flurry while Ennis was on the ropes, landing punches around Ennis’ peek-a-boo guard.

In the fourth round, Truax landed another flurry while Enniss was on the ropes, but it was started with a powerful uppercut that Truax followed with right hooks around Ennis’gloves.

Truax would go on to outbox and outwork Ennis for every round, ocassionally hurting Ennis with right hands.

The judges scored the bout  for 30-year-old Osseo, Minnesota native.

Mike Lee (13-0, 7 KOs) vs. Paul Gonzalvez (7-4, 3 KOs)

In the co-main event, undefeated Light Heavyweight Mike Lee scored a majority decision victory over Paul Gonzalvez in a six-round fight.

The 27-year-old Wheaton, Illinois native had trouble finding Gonzalvez, working off a slow jab and an inability to properly cut off the ring.

Gonzalvez came ready to fight, using his foot work and distance to try to derail Lee’s increasing popularity.

In the second round, Lee landed a powerful right hand and left hook, hurting Gonzalvez slightly. While Gonzalvez landed a right hand of his own in the third round, eventually bloodying Lee’s nose for the rest of the fight.

One judge scored the bout a 57-57 draw, while another two scored the bout 58-56 and 58-56 for Lee.
