Super Lightweight contender Samuel Teah (15-2-1, 7 KOs) defeated Kenneth Sims Jr. (13-2-1, 4 KOs) by unanimous decision in the ShoBox: The New Generation co-main event tonight in Philadelphia.

The fight was fairly close, but it was Teah who pulled off the win. The scores of 79-73 and two scores of 77-75 were all for the Philadelphia native, Teah.

It seemed as though Teah’s game-plan coming in was to out work his man. He did just that as he threw over 200 punches more than his opponent, while landing close to 100 more punches than him as well.

It wasn’t just that he out worked and out punched his man, but he also landed his shots at a higher percentage. Although it was relatively close–32 percent for Teah compared to 29 percent for Sims Jr.

In the end it was the hustle of Teah that got the job done for him tonight in front of his hometown fans.

With only two losses on his record, Teah will undoubtedly be looking to jump in the mix with more contenders in 2019.
