Michael Zerafa got off to a quick start and never looked back.
After dropping Jeff Horn in Round 2, Zerafa continued to outclass the former WBO Welterweight champion throughout the fight, before finishing the job via ninth-round stoppage.
Zerafa looked sharp throughout the contest, while Horn was sluggish in his move from Welterweight to Middleweight.
Horn admitted as much after the fight.
“I just felt really sluggish,” said Horn. “It’s really annoying—I hate using that as an excuse. But I just felt like crap going into it.”
Zerafa on the other hand made it known that the result was not shocking to him and that he’s eyeing bigger matchups in the future.
“We want that fight [against Ryota Murata],” said Zerafa after his big victory. “My team and I will obviously sit down and talk … but now we just celebrate with the team and everybody that stuck by me.”
