Vyacheslav “Lion Heart” Shabranskyy (12-0, 10 KOs) devastated Fabiano “Pit Bull” Pena (11-1-1, 8 KOs) in all five rounds of their fight at Freeman Coliseum in San Antonio, Texas on Thursday night.

Each boxer brought firepower to the fight leading up to the Vargas vs. Tomlinson showdown.

The fight broke evenly in the first round when Shabranskyy out manuevered Pena, landing blows that stole the stanza. Pena never took a step back despite the stiff jab the Ukrainian landed at will.

Round after round, the ring belonged to Shabranskyy, dominating his sturdy opponent. Pena fought admirably, but never managed to breakthrough a hit, failing to land flurries on Shabranskyy near the end of the third round.

Shabranskyy led the fight with speed and precision, leaving Pena without a means for a critical strike on his opponent. Audience members cheered on both fighters, waiting for Pena to start an upset, to no avail.

Body blows hit Pena with a raucous sound, leaving members of the audience staring agape at the clinical shakedown.

It became evident that if Pena wanted to change the outcome of this bout he would need to alter his tactics. Perhaps the onslaught of blows from Shabranskyy, proved too much for Fabiano to overcome.

Pena withdrew in the fifth after swift jabs from Shabanskyy. Better technique and conditioning won the fight for the aptly named, “Chingonskyy.”

The future looks bright for rising talent Vyachselav Shabranskyy.
