Thabis Mchunu (16-1, 11 KOs) outboxed Garret Wilson (13-8-1, 7 KOs) en route to a unanimous decision victory at the Foxwoods Resort, in Mashantucket, Connecticut.

The ten-round Cruiserweight fight was the main event of a card presented by Main Events Promotions and NBC Sports.

Mchuni is a highly-ranked Crusierweight who spent most of the fight landing straight left hands and right hooks to the body from his southpaw stance.

Wilson managed to come alive in rounds 9 and 10, but it was too little too late, as he went to the tenth and final round without the knockout he desperately needed.

Mchuno won with scores of 96-93,99-90, and 98-91.

Karl Dargan (17-0, 9 KOs) vs. Angino Perez (17-6, 15 KOs)

Karl Dargan seemed to have a tough night ahead of him as he stepped into the ring against Angino Perez, who enjoyed a comfortable height and reach advantage in their scheduled 10-round fight.

However, after an uncomfortable start in which he was knocked down in the third round by a right hand, Dargan rose to the occasion by standing his ground in the center of the ring to land a thunderous right uppercut that dropped Perez in the fifth round.

Dargan would end the fight a few seconds later, landing an overhand right to Perez’ temple that sent him to the canvas.

The new NABF Junior Lightweight champion believes he has the tools to do well against any of top names in the Lightweight division, including Omar Figueroa, whom he has a good chance of fighting next.
