Popular Long Island junior welterweight prospect CLETUS “The Hebrew Hammer” SELDIN is deep in preparations for his ESPN Friday Night Fights debut against veteran BAYAN “The Mongolian Mongoose” JARGAL set for Friday, July 18 at The Paramount in Huntington, New York.

Presented by Joe DeGuardia’s Star Boxing, advance tickets for ESPN FRIDAY NIGHT FIGHTS/”ROCKIN FIGHTS 14″ starting at $50, are on sale through Ticketmaster (Ticketmaster.com), the Star Boxing website (StarBoxing.com) and The Paramount Box Office, phone (631) 673-7300. Doors on the night of the event will open at 6:30 p.m. with the first bell at 7:00 p.m.

Sporting a record of 13-0-0 with ten knockouts, the 27-year-old Seldin is preparing for the toughest foe of his three-year career as Jargal enters the eight round clash with a record of 17-5-3 with 11 knockouts.

Speaking from his training camp in West Palm Beach, Florida, Seldin touched on a number of topics leading up to the fight.

“I’ve seen Jargal fight numerous times, I know he gave Algieri a good fight” said Seldin. “He’s going to want to push the pace which is just my style so fans are in for an all-action scrap. But he’s got a bit of an awkward offense, his punches come from different angles which is something I will have to deal with.”

“I’ve gotten terrific sparring down here in Florida visiting numerous gyms over the last few weeks. I’m based in West Palm Beach but I’ve been all over Florida getting the best sparring, six to ten rounds per day.”

Always moving forward in and out of the ring, Seldin is anxious to make his nationally televised debut. “I always want more, I’m never satisfied whether it’s headlining The Paramount or ESPN, I’ll always want it bigger and better.”

“I was inspired by Chris winning the world title, he had no amateur bouts, I only had about 30 so we’ve both heard the same things about what our limitations are but it just shows what courage, heart and discipline can do.”

Finally, remarking about fighting at The Paramount for the 9th time, Seldin stated, “I love it, my fans and friends pack the place and it feels like I’m hosting a party. There is no better venue in America for boxing than The Paramount.”

Headlining ESPN FRIDAY NIGHT FIGHTS/”ROCKIN FIGHTS 14″ is an outstanding ten round junior welterweight clash between top rated contenders EMANUEL “The Tranzformer” TAYLOR of Baltimore, Maryland and San Francisco’s KARIM “Hard Hitta” MAYFIELD.

As part of the sensational evening of world class professional boxing, Star Boxing will also pay tribute to “The Fighting Pride of Huntington”, new World Boxing Organization Junior Welterweight Champion CHRIS ALGIERI.

Additional undercard bouts for ESPN FRIDAY NIGHT FIGHTS/”ROCKIN FIGHTS 14″ will be announced shortly.
