“Gonzalez is an excellent fighter, the top of his class and exactly the fight I want. As soon as the fight was offered I jumped at the opportunity.”

“My trainer and I work on different techniques everyday in the gym and we’ll have a game plan for victory.”

“We are training hard and very focused on this fight. I know he is a great champion but I will work round-by-round on April 23.”

“I am aware that Gonzalez is a hard puncher, but I also hit hard and know that I can box too.”

“I know I should be champion already after the fight with Ruenroeng but I can’t look back, only forward.” Arroyo lost a very close, controversial split-decision to Amnat Ruenroeng in Thailand on September 10, 2014.

“It would give me great pride to become a world champion like my brother, it’s always been my dream.” Twin brother McJoe Arroyo is the IBF Super Flyweight World Champion. He also represented Puerto Rico in the 2012 Olympics in London and had the honor of carrying his country’s flag at the Opening Ceremonies.

“I’m very grateful for the opportunity to fight on HBO for the first time and on such a big show. I’m sure that Roman will have a lot of fans in Los Angeles as will I, can’t wait for April 23, it’s going to be a fantastic fight.”
