Ever since his blockbuster deal with DAZN was announced, Canelo Alvarez‘s future has been a hot topic on boxing forums and social media.
Will he or won’t he face Gennady Golovkin for a third time? Now that potential fights against other Middleweight champions like Daniel Jacobs and Demetrius Andrade seem very attainable, Golovkin may be old news.
Of course there are other fighters like Jermall Charlo, Gilberto Ramirez and even Jarrett Hurd who have stated that they want a crack at Canelo, but with the politics of boxing those guys probably aren’t too high on the Mexican superstars list (regardless of mandatory claims). 
They don’t fight on DAZN and pose too much of a financial risk for Golden Boy Promotions.
With Cinco de Mayo weekend locked up at T-Mobile Arena, who will Canelo take on? According to Eddie Hearn, DAZN would prefer Canelo to face GGG and Jacobs in 2019. Boxing fans would probably be satisfied with those opponents as well.
