Earlier today, 41 year-old legendary Heavyweight, Wladimir Klitschko officially announced his retirement from the sport of boxing.

After more than 27 years involved in the great sport of boxing, Klitschko took the time to say thank you to fans and shed some light on his future.

Talks were underway to secure a rematch against Anthony Joshua, a mega-fight that would have taken place in Las Vegas, but ultimately Klitschko decided against it.

“I deliberately took a few weeks to make my decision, to make sure I had enough distance from the fight at Wembley Stadium,” said Klitschko.

During his time as the Heavyweight kingpin, Klitschko went 11 years unbeaten, until losing the WBA, IBF and WBO titles to Tyson Fury in November of 2015.

“As an amateur and a professional boxer, I have achieved everything I dreamed of, and now I want to start my second career after sports,” said Klitschko.
