A short time ago, Leonard Ellerbe announced via Twitter that the Ishe Smith vs. Erislandy Lara bout that was scheduled for May 2, 2014 is now cancelled.
Instead, the Cuban slickster Lara will be facing Mexican superstar Saul “Canelo” Alvarez on July 12, 2014.
This is the bout that Lara has been petitioning for so it only makes sense that he take the offer.
Ellerbe also took to Twitter to state that Smith will still be fighting on “Mayweather Eve” against an opponent TBD.
Lara vs Smith is off. Ishe vs TBD on May 2. More details to follow, stay tuned!
