Once you find an instructor, you will need to start looking for the proper gear. There are several different types of equipment you will need to purchase. The headgear is the most important piece of equipment you will need in kickboxing.

Headgear is mostly utilized when sparing. You will find a broad range of brands available. Each brand has unique features that will reduce the impact of strikes, provide adequate ventilation and comfort, and allow you to move your head with restrictions.

You will also need to purchase a pair of kickboxing training gloves. These gloves will protect your hands from injury by reducing the impact of strikes, the gloves should fit comfortably and be easy to remove and put on.

Kickboxing gloves are available in several different sizes. You can choose eight ounces, all the way up to 16 ounces.
