On Saturday, December 6, 2014, the scheduled 12-round Light Heavyweight fight between Jean Pascal (29-2-1, 17 KOs) and Roberto Bolonti (35-3, 24 KOs) ended in a no contest after Pascal struck Bolonti with a right hand after being separated from a clinch.
Bolonti hit the ground immediately and had to be taken on a stretcher.
The punch that landed, however, didn’t seem to merit Bolonti’s response.
In the video below, a member of Bolonti’s team apparently tells him to stay down.
“Don’t get up! Don’t get up!,” the voice says in Spanish.
Bolonti was probably hoping for a disqualification, but the fight instead ended in a no contest.
What do you think happened?
