Things got heated at today’s weigh in for Danny Garcia and Lamont Peterson’s main event showdown on Saturday, April 11, 2015 on Premier Boxing Champions second go ’round on NBC.
Both fighters traded barbs and are ready to stake their claim as one of the best fighters in the world.
Garcia weighed in at 142.2 pounds and Peterson came in right at the limit, 143 pounds.
The co-main event bout had a different sort of drama as Peter Quillin came in at 161.6 pounds, or 1.6 pounds overweight, and was not able to drop the necessary weight in the two hour time frame.
That means Lee, who made weight at 159.6 pounds, cannot lose his title–even if he loses the bout.
A remorseful Quillin apologized for not making weight, but this act does nothing to help his cause as the boxing world continues to turn against him.
