On the September 11 edition of PBC on Spike, Adonis Stevenson (27-1, 22 KOs) defended his WBC and RING magazine Light Heavyweight titles against Tommy Karpency (25-4-1, 14 KOs) with a third-round KO at the Richo Coliseum in Toronto, Canada.
Stevenson, 37, earned another win against a less-than-stellar opponent, but at least did it in quick fashion.
Karpency, 29, was no match for the Haitian-born Canadian, and was wobbled early in Round 1.
Stevenson dropped Karpency in Round 2 before eventually stopping him in Round 3.
Stevenson ended the fight by calling out Sergey Kovalev, who many consider to be the best Light Heavyweight in the world, despite the fact that Stevenson holds the lineal title.
“Kovalev, you’re easy work. You know you had a purse bid and disappeared, but now it’s time to unify the titles,” said Stevenson.
What’s next for Stevenson? Is a fight with Kovalev even likely?
