Adonis Stevenson vs. Thomas Williams Jr.: 3 Keys to Victory for Superman

Check out the three keys for Adonis “Superman” Stevenson to emerge victorious from his bout against Thomas “Top Dog” Williams Jr. in Quebec, Canada this Friday.

Keep Your Distance

Thomas “Top Dog” Williams Jr. seems a bit disproportional physically. Although he stands at 6’1″, his reach does not extend past 72,” giving Stevenson a five-inch reach advantage.

Williams Jr. overcomes this disadvantage however, as he is able to close distance, forcing his opponents to exchange on the inside. This was shown in both of his most recent bouts, suffering at least a three-inch reach disadvantage to both fighters.

Stevenson needs to keep Williams Jr. at a distance with his jab. If Williams Jr. closes the distance and gets inside, Stevenson needs to stick and move with a straight left.

If Stevenson can outbox Williams Jr. and keep him at a distance, Top Dog will not be able to land the power shots he needs to defeat Stevenson.
