The fight everyone has been waiting for is finally coming to fruition and everyone in the boxing world can now rejoice.

Well, everyone except for Amir Khan.

After more than a year of pleading his case for a fight with Floyd Mayweather, Khan claims that Mayweather took the “easy route” by finally taking the superfight with Manny Pacquiao.

“My strong performance against Devon Alexander has made some of the opponents think twice about taking me on. Mayweather has probably chosen to fight Pacquiao because it’s an easier fight,” according to ESPN UK.

We must, of course, take Khan’s comments with a grain of salt as Pacquiao is undoubtedly the more established and dangerous fighter in the division.

Nevertheless, Khan did look really good against Devon Alexander and has proven himself to be a top-10 Welterweight.

Could a fight with either one still be in his future? Or are we closer to seeing him face countryman and IBF champion, Kell Brook?
