He came, he saw, he conquered. Angelo Leo (17-0, 8 KOs) dominated Neil Tabanao (17-5, 11 KOs). The match took place at Sam’s Town Live in Las Vegas, Nevada on April 5, 2019.

It was a night that saw Mayweather Promotions showcase their young talent. Leo was the main event on the card and showed why his future is so bright.

Leo controlled much of the pace of the contest as he was able to keep Tabanao at bay for long durations of the contest. Tabanao seemed content with trying to box on the outside although that was playing right into the hands of his opponent.

The first few rounds saw Leo pick his man apart. His shots weren’t hurting his opponent but Leo was clearly landing the better punches. As the match continued it seemed as though Tabanao would not give Leo much of a contest.

In the second half of the fight he finally managed land a few good shots of his own. Leo to his credit didn’t back down from the pressure that his opponent was starting to apply. Instead he began to turn up his own aggression which lead to him landing numerous big blows.

At one point Leo was warned for hitting low as a few of his punches strayed a bit below the belt. That was about the only issue Leo was having as he dominated the fight. Tabanao looked more tired as the rounds went by.

Leo on the other hand looked extremely fresh. Leo poured on the combinations in the final two rounds. He couldn’t get the stoppage but he did manage to put on a dominant showing.

In the end all three referees scored the contest lopsidedly, 99-91 and 100-90 twice all in favor of Leo.
