Super Bantamweight prospect Arnold Khegai (14-0-1, 9 KOs) remained perfect as he defeated Jorge Diaz (19-6-1, 10 KOs) by unanimous decision in the opening televised bout of ShoBox: The New Generation.

One judge had the bout 79-72, while the two remaining judges had it 77-74.

It was a fun matchup and while Diaz ultimately came up short he did put on a great effort.

Despite Diaz being the more active fighter, throwing more than 100 punches than his opponent, it was Khegai who was much more accurate with his shots as the numbers told much of the story.

Khegai only out-landed his man by 18 total punches, but it was his ability to not just land quality shots, but also make his man miss in the process.

Khegai’s most effective punch of the night was the jab as he was able to land that at a much higher rate than his opponent, 34 percent to just 15 percent.

The total punch percentage was a big difference as well as Khegai landed his shots 10 percent higher. Outside of just the numbers it was Khegai who was able to dictate the pace for most of the matchup.
