On Saturday, February 27, 2016, King’s Promotions returned to the nation’s capital and the Walter E. Washington Convention Center for an exciting night of professional boxing.
The night was headlined by Washington DC’s own Ty Barnett (23-4-1, 15 KOs), who was making his return to the ring for the first time in almost two years.
Barnett took on battled-tested veteran, Daniel Attah (28-22-1, 11 KOs), in a bout scheduled for eight rounds.
The fight commenced with Barnett being the aggressor, pushing the southpaw Attah back towards the ropes with piercing combinations to the body.
Barry Hunter–Barnett’s coach–implored his fighter to work off the jab throughout the early rounds which seemed to work well.
Barnett showed little-to-no ring rust, patiently putting his punches together even when he seemed to have Attah trapped on the ropes.

As Attah absorbed more punishment to the body he became more gun shy and in Round 6, Attah once again found himself trapped against the ropes and was dropped from an accumulation of punches.
Attah rose to his feet, but it was only a matter of time before he would hit the canvas again.
In the eighth and final round, Barnett continued to walk his man down and landed a strong one-two upstairs that dropped Attah.

Attah beat the count again, but hit the deck a few moments later and the fight was stopped by referee Joe Cooper at the 2:46 mark.
For Barnett, it was a successful return to the ring as he now looks towards fighting bigger names.
“I have no picks, I’ll fight anybody. All the top guys, you say a name and I’ll fight him,” said Barnett in a pre-fight interview with Round By Round Boxing.
The King’s Promotion card also featured standout prospects Patrick Harris (8-0, 5 KOs), Demond Nicholson (16-1, 16 KOs) and Mykal Fox (9-0, 2 KOs), who all scored impressive victories.
It was Harris, though, who produced the highlight knockout of the night, blasting Christopher Russell in Round 1.
