On Saturday, November 8, 2014, Sergey Kovalev (25-0-1, 23 KOs) dominated Bernard Hopkins (55-6-2, 32 KOs) in each round of their 12-round unification fight at the Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City, New Jersey.
The the fight was presented by Golden Boy Promotions, Main Events Promotions, and HBO Boxing.
Kovalev is now the WBO, WBA, and IBF Light Heavyweight champion, while Hopkins lost the seventh fight of his 20-year career.
In the co-main event, Sadam Ali scored a ninth-round knockout over Luis Arebu in a scheduled 10-round Welterweight fight that was also promoted by Top Rank promotions,
