With just over a week to go until the Nov. 2 clash between Canelo Alvarez and Sergey Kovalev on DAZN, the global sports streaming service is ramping up its original programming offerings and distribution efforts as Fight Season on DAZN heats up. DAZN reunited with LeBron James’ production company UNINTERRUPTED to produce a three-part series 40 Days: Canelo vs. Kovalev ahead of their Nov. 2 showdown.
Sylvester Stallone has partnered with DAZN to produce a series of feature documentaries under the banner One Night. This latest original content offering on DAZN will begin with One Night: Joshua vs. Ruiz, a look back at the June 1 title tilt on DAZN, widely regarded as one of the biggest heavyweight upsets ever.
DAZN launched a weekly, three-hour series dubbed DAZN Fight Zone, which will stream on Pluto TV’s fight channel and will feature original content, archived classic fights and move.
This Saturday, Oct. 26, Bellator 232 will feature former world champion Douglas Lima seeking to avenge last year’s loss to current champ Rory MacDonald in a highly-anticipated rematch at 10pm ET. The two faced off ahead of the DAZN exclusive event and MacDonald spoke about the high stakes as the fight is part of the Welterweight World Grand Prix on DAZN, with the winner taking home a $1 million prize and the Bellator welterweight title.
Also this Saturday, DAZN will host the super lightweight World Boxing Super Series final from Manchester, England between Regis Prograis and Josh Taylor.
A few DAZN fighters opened the doors to their training camps this week to give media a peek inside. Canelo Alvarez hosted a workout at his gym in San Diego and acknowledged the huge risk he is taking by moving up two weight classes. Light heavyweight champion Sergey Kovalev also allowed cameras in to his training camp, and reiterated that this is the biggest fight of his career.
Ahead of his Dec. 7 rematch with Anthony Joshua, Andy Ruiz, Jr. put on a show for the media, many of whom reported that Ruiz looks fit and focused ahead of the mega event.
On Tuesday, Logan Paul hosted an open workout at Wild Card Boxing in Hollywood ahead of KSI vs. Paul II on Nov. 9. Paul spoke in-depth about using boxing to ‘erase the stigma that comes with being an internet star.’
