According to Kevin Iole of Yahoo Sports, Bob Arum is in serious talks with K2 Promotions to stage a July 12 bout between Gennady Golovkin vs. Julio Cesar Chavez Jr.
That fight would only be possible if the Mexican fighter can defeat Bryan Vera this Saturday, March 1, 2014.
Chavez Jr. has been ridiculed in the past for his lackluster training habits, but according to him he’s found new motivation with the birth of his daughter.
We will see how ready Chavez Jr. is for Vera in their rematch this weekend, especially with a possible mega fight against “GGG” hanging in the balance.
